One of his strongest screenplays was A Thousand Suns which he turned into a novel. He tried to become a screenwriter, but had trouble entering the business. During this career he worked on many big games, including The Thing, Evolva, Legion Arena, and Ultimate Soccer Manager. He worked in graphic arts for a bit before becoming a computer game designer. He spent ten years in the music business, but eventually decided to leave it behind when he realized he would not get a record deal or become famous from his music career. Prior to becoming an author, Scarrow was a rock guitarist. The TimeRiders series is a young adult science fiction series that began in 2010 with the release of TimeRiders. After a decade in the games business, he ended up as a senior designer working on high-concept projects for next generation consoles. Failing miserably at that, he went into the computer games business as a digital artist. Alex Scarrow spent the first ten years out of college in various rock bands trying to get a record deal.
